Liturgical Ministries

Volunteers always needed

If you are interested in volunteering at Mass as a:

  • Mass Coordinator (see below for more information)
  • Lector
  • Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC or EM)
  • Hospitality Minister (Greeter)
  • Altar Server (11:30am and 9pm Sunday Masses)
  • Music Minister (singers/instrumentalists)

Please log into (or join) our Flocknote and request to join the corresponding group(s). A training session may be required for new volunteers; these can be arranged depending on the situation.

Mass Coordinators

These volunteers fill the same role that sacristans fill in a parish, and are expected to arrive about 45 minutes early to Mass to set up for the upcoming liturgy. Specifically, coordinators are responsible for the following:

  • Set-up for each mass (placement of vessels, altar cloth, books, crucifix, tables for worship aids, Holy Water font, collection baskets, etc.)
  • Identify scheduled Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, and Hospitality Ministers
  • Request additional ministers from those present in the congregation at that particular mass, if needed
  • Assist with seating in Worship Hall
  • Ask for volunteers to carry the gifts to the altar
  • Oversee the duties of the Hospitality Ministers and assist with the collection
  • Handle any emergencies that may occur during the mass so that the liturgy is uninterrupted
  • Oversee the purification of vessels after mass
  • Tidy up the worship space after mass
