CRS Spotlight

Cuts to international assistance have devastated millions of vulnerable people worldwide, especially women and children. Now, the White House has proposed additional cuts, and the situation continues to worsen. International assistance upholds the sacredness and dignity of children, families and entire communities. Slashing funding and programs is causing unnecessary suffering and undoing decades of progress in addressing global poverty.

Congress has the power to oppose funding cuts and to maintain funding for lifesaving programs in the upcoming federal budget. Your representatives need to hear that you care deeply about your global family. As the U.S. realigns its spending around the broad objectives of making America safer, stronger and more prosperous, we must ensure that lifesaving and life-affirming aid remains a central and vital part of this strategy. Tell Congress that we have a moral duty to alleviate poverty and ease human suffering.
